Teachers are a vital part of the American Folk Art Museum’s audience. The education department strives to empower teachers to integrate folk art into their classroom curricula. The works of folk art in the museum’s permanent collection can be read like texts, revealing aspects of American life from colonial times to the present, and thus present vivid primary sources for teachers.
